Hello There

Welcome to the Blog aka the BB Blog.  We’ll be sharing with you an insight into what goes on behind the scenes here at BB HQ giving some top tips on what’s hot in the world of bubs and useful hints and tips.

The news on the block this week is that we are expanding.  We are both pregnant!  We are blaming it on Dimples neither Jess or Samuel can wear it now they are the big 2 and every time we put a basket together we do coo a lot.  We obviously did not plan this and come busy season we will have some stories to tell!

We get a lot of calls regarding the brand.

The Go Go Sleeping Bags and Cocooi Swaddle Wraps are a best seller here at BubsBoutique and have so many fabulous features and benefits.  We do get a lot of questions about Merino which is what gives the sleeping bags and swaddles their uniqueness, we hope you find the information useful if you have any further questions you know we are only an email or phone call away

Benefits of Merino

  1. Incomparable ability to maintain a comfortable micro climate between body and bedding.  It helps regulate your babies’ temperature throughout their sleep.
  2. Unlike synthetic fabrics it breathes, absorbing and releasing moisture away from the baby’s skin in warm conditions and insulating in cooler temperatures.
  3. Improves Sleep Routines.  Medical Studies have proven that merino improves the sleep patterns of babies and toddlers.  At the Cambridge Maternity Hospital in 1979 Scott and Richards revealed that babies sleeping on merino settled more quickly, cried less, fed better and gained weight faster.
  4. Premature and low weight babies benefit.  The same medical studies investigating the effect of merino on premature and low birth weight babies found that they gained an extra 10g a day compared to babies that weren’t sleeping on Merino
  5. Merino is a natural fibre and has anti bacterial properties, which resist build up of odour which reduces washing; you can simply air it out over the edge of the cot.
  6. Swaddling with merino.  A number of studies have shown that swaddling babies tend to reduce the likelihood of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).  Since overheating has been identified as a key factor in many cases of SIDS there is a strong case for using merino because of its previously noted ability to regulate heat and humidity.
  7. Reduces Skin Allergies.  Superfine merino is soft and silky and does not itch your baby’s skin.  Because it has the ability to respond to changes in temperature, it’s amongst the most comfortable material you can put your baby in.  Merino has been linked with a lower incidence of skin allergies
  8. Comfortable and easy to care for.  Super fine merino feels soft and silky next to your baby’s skin.  use a fine-spun fabric, making it soft and comfortable.  It also has a natural elastic property, meaning the garments fit snugly every time
  9. Fire Resistant.  Merino contains natural fire retardants, further helping safe guard children’s health
  10. It controls temperature .. no need for TOG rating.  Merino fibre actively regulates temperature, protecting your baby from extremes because it keeps him warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s hot.  For this reason it does not require a tog rating.  Because merino is 100% natural, there is no need for a tog rating, unlike products which don’t breathe due to being made with synthetic fibres

If you have any top tips on Merino or any stories on the benefits of the Cocooi and Go Go Bag please share them with us.
